Greetings, A group of USMC Vietnam Tankers reunited for the first time (in over 30 years) this past July 4th in Washington, D.C. It was a glorious weekend for us all. Although only fifty-seven of us were able to make it to the reunion, we have over 350 individuals on our "active" files and we are growing daily.

At the reunion we voted to pursue joining the Marine Corps Tankers Assn. as a separate chapter.

We have noticed that unfortunately there are a lot of USMC Viet Vets who do not want to join WW II and/or Korean Vets organizations. In order to preserve our proud USMC heritage, we have to recruit these vets the best way we can. Please help us. Thanks in advance for your concern.

Sunraysia Vietnam Veterans Association started way back in about 1974 with about four or five blokes deciding to do something for themselves and other like-minded Veterans. Since then, it has grown from strength to strength.
Last year there was a fund-raising drive to the tune of over $50,000 which was used to construct Veterans Memorial here in Mildura. The Memorial was drawn and designed by John Prowse, a local bloke who is also a Vietnam Veteran.
We have also started our own Support Network, for Veterans in crisis, with close links to Police, local Hospital and The Vietnam Veterans counseling Service (VVCS), both in Melbourne and Adeliade.

Secondly, the purpose of the Museum is to provide a vicarious experience for those who visit the exhibits and displays within.
Thirdly, the purpose of the Museum is to honor and remember all who served in the Viet Nam War and the sacrifices they made, so that future generations may remember and learn from this turbulent time in history. We must never forget the Viet Nam Experience!
