Flag Square in Vung Tau

This is a 1969 photo of Flag Square in Vung Tau, a place frequented by off duty US and Australian servicemen, mainly because of the large number of bars in the area.

This second photo was taken in 1998 from nearly the same spot. The monument in the middle of the square was removed after the fall of Saigon. However, you can still see the faded names of the bars on the shop fronts. They now house things like motor cycle repair shops and other merchandise stores. There is one place that was a barbershop then and is still a barbershop.
