Iron Man Mike Mervosh was our SGT MAjor. I recently spoke with him. One of my friens in 1/7 was Bobby Mullins, he was injuried by a booby trap. When the moving wall came to Muncie, Indaina Bob came over and I pushed him in his wheel chair to visit the wall, It was tuff for both of us. He and I visited and talked with each other until his untimely death. I was from Muncie, Indiana and one of the youngest Marines in 1/7.

Message is: I am desperately seeking help from fellow veterans. My husband has been diagnosed with PTSD, Memory loss, Hearing loss, Seizures and stomach disorder plus now possibly diabetes. I had him apply for disability with the VA and have been denied twice due to the fact that they say there is no proof that he was in combat. He does not have my combat ribbon. I sent for it in March of 2007, have heard nothing. His records clearly state that he was in Operation Union, Machine gunner & ammo carrier. He was medivac out on May 1st to a field hospital, had seizures, put on the USS Repose & then in July was sent home - weighing 98lbs, was unfit for duty, discharged in Oct. Without another voice saying he was there or that combat medal I cannot beat this system for him. I have researched everything I can get my hands on. Is he entitled to this medal & the Presidential Citation for Operation Union where he was medivac out of the field and there for only part of the combat? Is that ! the problem? For 40 years I wondered what was wrong with him & now I know. With couseling the war is coming out and the nightmares are worse. But the VA comp & pension does not care.
