Message is: I received a metal bracelet with LCDR Edward Davis' name and the date of 8-26-1965 on it from my aunt a few months ago. It had been my mother's and my aunt thought that I should have it. I am not sure if this man was a POW, I do not see his name in the casualty files. I put this bracelet on when my own brother was sent to Iraq because I would want someone to wear a bracelet for him if he were to be captured. I wouldn't want anyone to ever forget. See uncle Buzzy passed at 48 yrs old extremely suddenly, and our family is only has a few members left and no one that can recall much information about him. But I know he served in the Marines in Vietnam for eight months until hit by schrapnel and sent home.I never got to talk with him because I was to young,by the time I could tell him he was my hero he was gone. So anyone who knew him would make me feel close to him and at least I could tell you how much I admire what you've done for the people of our country, those who really understand appreciate you.

He spent a good many years in Odessa, Texas and he is honored on the Permian Basin Vietnam Veteran's Memorial. I am attempting to locate friends and family who can give me insight on this marine. He was killed on May 5, 1967 while serving as a rifleman and suffered gunshot wounds. He is buried in Wienert, Texas. His date of birth was March 28, 1944.
