A few years ago my brother aqquired a helmet from a war memorabilia shop in central London. All i know is what people have told me that it is genuine ( as i'm sure you know there is a lot of forged equipment out there, especially on E,Bay ) that it more than likely belonged to an Airborne Division,and there is a name written clearly on the band around it which spells, Sgt Pinknev. I guess i'm just curious about this guy that i know nothing about and more than anything would like to know that he made it out of there! I,m also more than willing to give it back to him if he was maybe interested in having it back.I've tried to find info about him on other websites but had no luck.It would be great if, of course you have the time and resources to help an old Johnny Englishman out. Actually i'm only 34 and have met one veteran before.Iwork in the film industry and spent several months working on the ww2 epic Band Of Brothers . At the finishing party i had a very long talk with decorated veteran Dale Dye. He gave military advice and also put the actors through hell ,before ,during and even after filming! Message is: I am seeking friends of my husband who were in service with him. He Arrived Parris Island 64 Mar 25, for recruit training. Was a Baker at Camp Lejeune 64-65. '3rdRepl co, StagBn. MCB, CamPen'Feb - Mar 66 (this is from his records and I don't know what it means)and 'SupCo, FLSG-B FLC 27 April 66 - 31 Jan 67. Combat; May 66 Chu-Lai and July 66 Operation Kansas, I think with the rescue co. as the recon-team were wounded at least once with 6 dead. He made Sgt. and last duty was Cherry Point. He shared very little of his time in Vietnam, only one or two stories. I had pictures of his "home away from home" which over looked a bay with lots of sand, but after several moves cannot find them. He died 21 March 1994. He and a Buddy visited his Aunt and Uncle in NJ. Any help and information would be appreciated.

Message is: The person I'm looking for information on is my father. He is very shy and hasn't shared much about his past. I do know that he was an officer in the Marine Corps and achieved the rank of Captain. I know he received many comendations; such as the Vietnamese Medal of Honor, Silver Star and 2 Purple Hearts. I'm sure there are more. I would like to know more about where he served and what other awards he recieved or was nominated for. I'm not sure this is possible, but I would value any help you could offer in finding out more of his time of service.
