Message is: 2 WIAs left behind by their squad in high grass. One was the squad leader (SSGT?) early 30s married with kids. He ordered his squad to chase the NVA leaving him and EM behind, 3/4 Miles NE of Liberty Bridge. Found by squad of Transient Marine Volunteers who gcame out from the north gate to help. Squad led by infantry Lt came out later and joined the volunteers. Medevac at sundown. Never saw the patrol squad.

Message is: To whom it may concern. I was 8 years old when my uncle Ronnie was killed. His rank was LCPL in the US Marine Corp. I remember my dad, "which he also served in the Korean war Milton Thomas Adcox" and my mom, wouldnt let us kids attend the funeral services but at a later date, i did get to see his funeral on video the family had taped it on 35mm cam. But i do remember his letters he wrote home to us all. He was a truly sweet man and a caring man. As i can recall, He sent most of the family gifts, he sent my brother a small army jacket and wrote to say he was gonna send us 3 girls a doll but never did for he was killed. Ronnie had 6 brothers and 2 sisters, now living are 1 sister and one brother. He had 28 nieces and nefews. I remember Ronnie told his mom if anything happened to him to use the money from his death to build her a home. Well when he was killed she did just that. Then after all was done i went to visit my grandma with my sister, i was in bed that night f! ussing with my sister over the covers and grandma told me to go sleep on the couch and not to come back in the bedroom, she didnt want us to fight anymore. So i was sleeping on the couch a dead sleep not sure if it was a dream or not but Ronnie appeared beside me in Marine uniform pushing my arm to awake me. He ask if he could sleep there i said, grandma would whip me, he said, no she wont, just tell her i came by to see the house and tell her i love it. So i got up and went back to bed with my sister and the next morning grandma said, why did you do what i ask you not to? Then i told her about Ronnies visit. My father recently died March 31 of this year due to Throat Cancer. He was a wonderfull father to his 5 kids ,(2 daughters,1 son, a stepson and stepdaughter)but rightly so he never really talked about serving as a Marine in the Veitnam War, and now that he is gone I have no other way of getting any stories about this. What I do know is that my father graduated from the United States Marine Corps on Nov 8 1966, Second Recruit Battalion,Platoon 2085,M.C.R.D Parris Island,S.C. My father most likely served in Veitnam between 1966-1970,(estimated guess.)He received various awards and medals, including 3 Purple Hearts and was given an "HONORABLE DISCHARGE." My father was extremely proud of his "Sempra Fi Brothers,"(I hope I spelled that correct,if not sorry!)and the Marine Corps. "Once a Marine always a Marine!, " my father would say! So if anyone served with my Father and could tell me anything it would mean so much to me and my family.
