As I was processing in I ran into a guy from Lima Company and he told me that you were KIA at Khe Shan. I never doubted this information until two years ago when I was in DC and visited the wall. I was shocked to find that your name wasn't on the wall. Since then I conducted every search I can and the problem is that there are entirely too many Jack Adams out there. I remember that you are from Terra Haute, In, and that your father was a Baptist Minister, and it seems to me that you hung out at a Bar called the "Blue..." before you joined the crouch. Last time we talked was around New Years 1968 and you crawled into my houch on the northern Khe Shan wire. You were blitzed and I wasn't and I was within days of rotation to the States. I'm sorry that I didn't extend that tour because of frie! nds like you. Like to pick up where we left off.

Robert was killed with several other marines on the last day of Oklahoma Hills when the extraction bird crashed in the LZ, 02 May, 1969.
