Message is: Several years ago I briefly read a newspaper article, I don't recall which paper, that told a true story of an American soldier who attended the funnerals of four or five American soldiers who were killed in Vietnam. I believe that the soldier who attended these funnerals was assigned to these cases to assist the families. I know that there is a department in the Armed Forces that assist family members when soldiers are killed with making funneral arrangements, processing paperwork etc... I don't know if this soldier was a personal friend to any of the deceased soldiers or not but I believe that he accompanied the remains of the soldiers to their respective homes in different parts of the United States for burial.

Message is: I'd like to locate anyone who knew or served with my cousin PFC Frank Edward Crabbe, USMC. Frank was a Canadian from Montreal Canada. He enlisted in the Marines in January 1965 and was killed in February 1966 in Viet Nam in the Quang Nam province. I was barely 12 years old when Frank entered the Marines and I know very little about his short time in the service. Back to Pendelton in March 1950. To Inchon September 1950 Roy transferred to 5th Marines and I stayed with 1st Signal Bn. His family knows little beyond he was KIA in February 1951. Message is: I am in search of my father. I was told that he was killed in the Vietnam War in late 1972/early 1973. I have been unable to find any record of him. The only information I have is lited on my birth certificate stating his name and occupation (USMC). I was told by my mother that they met at the base in San Pedro, California and that he was sent to Vietnam shortly thereafter. She received a call a few months later stating he had been killed there.
