Butler commanded a Marine Corps civil action company headed by Lt. Bill Corson. Butler led a small force in an attempt to rescue a 16 man allied patrol ambushed outside Phuoc Thuan 20 miles south of ChuLai. Last time I had contact with him was in '82, and around that time, he was in a marine reserve unit in Los Alamitos California, as a helicopter mechanic. Heard thru relatives and neighbors, he moved to Victorville, California. Also, after that time we heard he was in a VA Hospital somewhere. We do not know his service or SS number. Message is: Looking for any acquaintences of my Dad, Tony Arbeeny, who served as a radioman (PVT)in Shanghai with 4th Marine Regt 1933-1939. Friend of Pelletier (sp?) who later became Marine Col. Dad married a White Russian named Tanya and had a daughter Margaret. Have photo album and infamous China Service "medal" with honey barge on front. Story told me was that an Irishman organized the coolies in Shanghai and struck for higher pay. After several weeks of no "night soil" pickups, the stench became overwhelming. Apparently the Japanese caught up with the erstwhile labor organizer, executed him, and thus properly motivated, the coolies went back to work. Any confirmation of this story?

Message is: Looking for anyone who served with me in 1962/1963 with the 1st Composite Radio Company. Anyone involved in CIA operations to install radio communication systems in villages as part of the Civilian Individual Defense Group (CIDG) program. Was in a Montagnard village outside of Pleiku that was torched by VC while radio system was being installed. Looking for anyone that may have information about this incident. I was also in Vietnam during 1968, 1969 and 1973 as a civilian working on the Civilian Operation for Revoluntionary Development and Support ( CORDS). Would like to hear from anyone who might remember me.
