Message is: Looking for anyone who knew my father and grandfather. My father, Joseph, was in for about 10 years, 1972(?) to 1982, though I am unsure what units he was with. I do know he was in Vietnam for the Fall of Saigon, and was sent to Beirut after the Embassy was bombed. He was stationed in Okinawa, Camp Pendleton, Camp Lejuene, and Bermuda. My grandfather, Frederick, enlisted 1951, went to Korea, and also served three tours in Vietnam. I do not know what units he was in or where else he had been stationed, or even when he got out. Message is: Danny Hendrix and David Pennington looking for fellow Marines we served with in Vietnam. Hendrix and I have been like brothers since the first day met in Vietnam. Sometimes I think our wives wished we were still there. We work for the same company in Dallas and would really enjoy hearing from anybody we may have crossed paths with during our tours. For a few years, we stayed in touch with Jackson Moore (Bro' Moe) but he disappeared. We spent time with Echo 2/7 as radio operators. Hendrix was the 28, I was the 14. There were numberous characters we recall. Chief, Shaky Pete, Thomas, The Senior Ben Casey, Gunny Battalon (guess at the spelling) and Capt. Mulharon (ditto on the guess). We also spent some time with 2/26, early in our tour. We were on HaiVan Pass, a radio relay station up between Danang and Hue, where the Army had some of their "dusters". Message is: I'm sorry that I can't remember any more. He was a prisoner of war, and I wore his bracelet for about 4 years when I was a kid in highschool. I think his rank was Colonel. When he was released at the in Feb of 1973, (his name was on the list in the newspaper) I mailed the bracelet to him. I remember that his birthday was also in February, and he became a prisoner in February too. I'm just wondering how he is doing now. I just watched the show on Discovery channel, and thought about him. I'll try to find his first name in my momento box at my mom's house.
