I went to U-Tapao on Jan. 18, 1970-Jan. 23, 1971. I reported to Dyess in Feb. 1971. The names I remember are, in no order, Charles Dillard-Dallas, Sam Washburn-Tenn., David Pitts-Marrietta Ga. Steven Beza-New Jersey,Garcia from California,Charlie Anderson-Little Rock, Ark.I flew my first combat mission with Charlie. I had the oppurtunity to go into the jungles of Thailand to look for a downed aircraft. When we got to the site it turned out to be an SR-71. I can.t forget Frenchy, he was from some place in Oklahoma. Gary Stowe, he borrowed my field jacket to fill up his duffle bag during Operation Bullet Shot Feb. 8, 1972. I have not seen either one since.
