Message is: This message is in response to Ruth's message about service in VN by her husband posted above: Ruth, If he was TDY in Nam and on orders, He had to have filed a travel voucher with finance. If so was paid travel pay, it was recorded on his pay record. Denver Co, is the pay record archive site for AF pay records. Here is a link to the web page: Go to Google, Type in: T5015 or T7330. You will find the address to write or perhaps find a number to call. Read these Regs real good and it just may lead you to his pay records. There is a Reg, that specifies how long records are kept however. One other thing is to check his medical records to see if he ever went to Sick Call in Nam. Any visit will/should be in his medical chart. That will provide proof he were there. I will not get into aircraft manifest because they are stored in Historical Records in Al. If you have any copies of his performance evaluations (APR) or letters of performance that talks about duty in VN should also validate his presents. By virtue of being on the ground in VN is grounds for approval of benefits. If he was at TSN during April of 1966, he was there during the STAND-OFF attack by the VC. This attack is well documented in the Air Force Historical Society web sites and list all attacks on air base in VN. (Just type in this title into goggle and you will find this history) If he was in the air freight section, he was under attack due to this being one the most damaged section of the flight-line. I have a copy of Stars and Stripes which gives a blow-by-blow of the attack if you need it.
