THE MOVING WALL

A visit to “THE WALL” for some is a time to cry

for those who never came home.

A visit to “THE WALL” for some is a time to mend

old wounds of the heart and soul.

A visit to “THE WALL” for some is to say I’m sorry

                for being alive.

A visit to “THE WALL” for some is to remember the

good times they had with those who did

                not come home.

A visit to “THE WALL” for me was a time to heal a heart

full of pain for all those I knew who died, for they

                died but I came home.

A visit to “THE WALL” will be many things to many people

but to me it  has healed my soul and made me feel

                proud to have been there.
