During February of 1999, Sheriff Taylor Douglas of the Putnam County Sheriff's office responded to a plea from Fred Ostrom (Charlie Company, 3rd Recon Bn) for assistance in cleaning up and maintaining the gravesite of 3rd Recon Battalion Medal of Honor recipient Robert Jenkins.

Sheriff Douglas sponsors a local Explorer Post, #955, and he asked for their help in the renovation and clean up of the Jenkins Gravesite.

The below photographs show the work of these fine young men and women of Post #955.
