Message is: I have been looking for Ralph Michael Johns for several years. We grew up together in Klamath Falls, Oregon. His mothers name was Ruth Johns and I think his fathers name was Roy Johns. Ralph also had several siblings: Robert, Rick, and I beleive two sisters. Ralph would spend quite a bit of time at our house on Anderson Street. I had two brothers named Mike and Richard and two sisters named Jerrie Lee and Patty. Just one other thing I know about Ralph was his appentics erupted on a trip floating down one of the many canals in Klamath Falls. I had heard Ralph fought in Viet Nam and was injured. Message is: Trying to help my father find friends he may have served with. Joined shortly before his 19th birthday in 1966 and I know he went to Norfolk Virginia and then New Orleans before going on the USS SPHINX to vietnam- probably around spring /summer 1968. He served in vietnam and then after the first tour and then joined the Julius A. Furer after its meditteranean tour around '69 ..shortly after he was to report to the Naval Base in bermuda where he finished his service until february of '70. He actually ran the bowling alley onthe naval base in bermuda around 69-70... Trying to get him in contact with old friends/crew members or people that may have served with him in anyof these places.. my dates may be slightly off by a couple of months..
