We went to EO"A"school together and were both EO3's and work together at Red Beach. I worked nights at quarry and later opened up Happy Valley Quarry which is where Smitty worked his second tour, running a shovel.We had a lot of fun together and have never forgot him. Hoped we could meet again since I live in Connecticut still and hoped he was still in Virginia. One of my sons is now in Navy's Nuclear Power Squadron in South Carolina.If "Smitty" or our other buddies: Al Bruns,John Hurst,Bill Fay,Jim Murray,or anyother MCB-1 buddies see this I would love to hear from you. We spent some of the "best" and "worst" days of our lives together! They say you can never go back, but I would at least like to say hi!
