After Boot Camp while at home, he suffered an Appeendicitis attack, was admitted to Pensascola Naval Hospital, developed Peritonitis, and was there for a couple months. He was reassigned to Naval Hospital, Camp Lejeune., worked in some research lab.

Message is: I am looking for the gentleman on the POW bracelet I wore from approx. 68-74. The name on the bracelet is LCDR Richard Stratton. I beleive he was promoted to CMDR after his release because Walter Cronkite did an eight week segment on Vietnam in the early 90s in which one segment was on POW/MIAs and he actually interviewed CMDR Richard Stratton (as he was introduced) The reason I am looking for him or any family member is to see if they would like the bracelet. I never took it off from the time I got it until his name appeared in the section the Dayton Daily News was publishing every Sunday with the names of the POWs who were released, but I have always kept it, periodically thinking and hoping to find a way to get in touch with him to see if he would like to have it and to say "Thank you for all you did for us and our country" Sincerely, Laurie Ryan.
