Michael W. Rodriguez


Michael W. Rodriguez began his involvement in Vietnam veterans' affairs in 1984, when he attended a reunion of men with whom he'd served in the 2nd Battalion, 1st Marine Regiment, 1st Marine Division, in Vietnam. In 1985, he co-founded Alamo Area Vietnam Veterans, Inc., in San Antonio, Texas, serving as its finance officer and newsletter editor. He helped transition AAVV into a chapter of Vietnam Veterans of America in 1989 and served the new VVA Chapter 366 as treasurer and newsletter editor.

In 1992, Michael was asked to serve as editor of "Texas VVA News," the newspaper for Vietnam Veterans of America in Texas.

Michael was elevated to the presidency of Vietnam Veterans of 2nd Battalion, 1st Marines Association, Inc., in 1995, the same year he was invited to apply for a position on the board of directors of the Vietnam Veterans Foundation of Texas, Inc.

He resides in San Antonio and is married to Linda Hamilton. He graduated from the Incarnate Word College (now a university) in San Antonio in December of 1995 with a degree in Communication Arts.

Michael works for Sosa, Bromley, Aguilar, Noble & Associates, the world's largest Hispanic advertising agency, as a media planner.
