This poem dedicated to the students and friends who took the Vietnamese language classes at the Presidio of Monterey, California during the late 1966 to 1969. Had it not been for your affection and psychological support, I would not have made through the year that my husband was in Viet Nam. May forgiveness brighten your days. May times heal all wounds. May your lives be filled with health and happiness. My love and thoughts will always be with you.

Intoxication

My door, you knocked
Its echo
shattered
the
time barrier

I
crashed through
the threshold
of
the past

Intoxicated

Thank you
for
genuine
affection
and
respect

Thank you
for
coming back

Thank you
for
knocking
on my door
