Message is: Sgt. Beasley, an Admin-type, reportedly pissed-off some MACV Colonel & the Col. sent him "out on a field op." to be RTO for a Captain who was an Advisor for an ARVN unit. The unit was airlifted 'into the loop of the river', West of Duc Hoa. I was with the armed helicopter unit [UTT/68th/197th] who was supporting the operation. Everything "went to hell in a handbasket" and, Sgt. Beasley ended up being the only American left alive on the ground. In the middle of the night, I "pulled him out" and have always wondered what happened to him after that.
