Message is: This individual was with the metorologist team assigned to 5/22nd "C" Arty. It was at LZ Sandy that he and another man went a water-run to the villiage near us. They came by the FDC bunker and "borrowed" 2 M16s and the M60; got in a 5/4 and headed down the road toward the villiage near "Titty" Mountain. They never came back. Beverley was somewhat of "free thinker" and his side kick just followed him along. He claimed he was kicked out of the Green Berets and wore thier head gear dispisite the Captians' orders not to. It was reported that 3 days after he left LZ Sandy,their bodies were found in a shollow grave; and in an ambush a daed VC was wearing his beret. Rumors abound! The captain and I went thru his footlocker and found a novel called "The Coward" and where the main characters name appeared, it was lined out and his was penciled in. Never found a copy of the book to read;but I think he intended to deffect. Could'nt find his name on "The Wall". Still won! der about that incident;any info appriciated--Jim Baggett Thanks

Message is: Charlie graduated from Nooksack Valley High School, in Northwest Washington State in 1966. I believe he was from California originally. During his short time at NVHS, he lived with the coach and his wife, Jim and Orla (I believe)McCowan. I have two letters from Charlie while he was at Ft. Benning. He mentions the movie "The Green Beret" being filmed there at the time. Charlie was Special Forces. I don't have any letters from his stay in Vietnam. I do have a 3 photos but not sure how to post those here. I recall he went on long range reconnaissance and that he received some medals, I think silver or bronze and Purple Heart but not sure. Charlie was very special to me, and to my brother who was also Special Forces, and we'd like to know what became of him. We heard he returned to Vietnam after his first tour in 1968-1969, but not certain of that and never heard anything more.

I have now come down with PTSD and must find some who can help me prove I was in Viet Nam at that time for VA. I ended up at a hotel called the Tron Hung Dow or was on Tran Hung Tow street. It was one block from the Aide Station or Hosp and about 2 blocks from the PX. A navy unit lived across the street and had small beer place were we could get a case of Amr beer every night. Next door to us on the right was French of Viet cat house for people money not GI's all we got was bad beer.
