Message is: my dad has recently died of complications from agent orange. he fought a long battle after coming home from veitnam. he was granted 100% disability for his war related illness. i'm looking for any men who served with my dad;especilly those who served with him in the field. my dad was given two bronze stars;one of them was for getting his men to safety after the lautentant who was in charge had been killed from a headwound from mortor fire. this left my dad in charge and he saved some lives that day because he was able to lead his men to safety. it is to any of these men that i'm trying to get in touch with. i just want to know more about my dad and if he saved your life that day and if you remember him and that day. he never bragged on himself;it was my mom who told me how he won two bronze stars;i never knew what those metals were for. despite his illness and pain he was a good father to his three sons;i'm the eldest and a good husband to our mom. they were married for fortynine years before he died this last april 4th 2000. he was buried with honors with full gun salute. my mom was presented with the flag that hung over his coffen. an army chaplen said some kind words about his service to his country. we miss him so much;he never really came home from veitnam;part of him stayed there and is still there and probably will always be there like those who read this have also left something of themselves there. thank you for serving your country so selflessly; it's time your country serve you selflessly and make things as right as they can be made. thank you......sincerely martin l. dick,son of mastersargent lester c. dick(he retired after 21years as firstsargent,last duty assignment fort lewis washington)
