I met my mother in 1993 for the first time and was introduced to my full blood brother David. I was born on 30th April 1970 at St Vincents Womens Hospitol Sydney and Adopted out from birth. If you can help me in my search I would be eternally grateful. So far, I've tried the Govt departments both Social, civil and military in Australia and USA and neither have been willing to help. We were stationed at the 8th Radio Research Field Station(U.S. Army Security Agency) from 1971 to 1972. Our tours were cut short when 5 NVA divisions were 15 klicks away from us. They started the major offensive on April 1st, 1972, and were taking a "fire base a day!" It started with Quang Tri City, and when it got to us in PhuBai, we had to destroy everything, and were flown to Thailand. The last thing I saw at PhuBai airstrip as I was get- ting into the C-130, was my 1SGT standing there, holding the Thompson Sub-machine gun I gave him. PFC SPARKS was orginially listed as KIA. Also, would like to hear from anyone wearing his bracelet. Have picture of PFC Sparks on standdown just prior to this incident. Carry a load of guilt as I was the first to see the VC that day, but was unable to warn our guys in time, plus I usually worked point but was not in that position that day. Having seen it go down, I always thought both were killed and only last week found out SPARKS had been taken POW. Also looking for the name of the Army HOSPITAL in SIAGON, called the Walter Reed of Vietnam, and anyone knowing the last name of a nurse named Linda stationed there in '69.
