Message is: I trained with James Hull in the 2nd of the 61st Infantry BN in Ft. Carson, Co, from 10/66 to approx 12/67, with a short trip to Ft. Riley, KS from 6/67 to 9/67. He came in country with the unit he was assigned to at Ft. Lewis Washington.(the unit would have had to ship out in early 1968 from Ft. Lewis) I am not sure of the unit name (it could have been the 6/31) or the date they arrived in RVN, but their first assignment was with the 2/47 BN of the 9th Infantry Div,at BearCat(our base camp in Bien Hoa Province) and after they received their baptism under fire we were separated until the Second Tet Offensive in May of 1968. We chanced to meet under the Y Bridge in Siagon on or about 5/10/68 ro 5/11/68. We did not see each other again til 10/68 at Dong Tam when we were processing out to come home through the 90th Replacement Depot in Long Bien. We made the ride to the states together and processed out at Oakland, CA. The last I saw of him was on about the 6th or ! 8th of October of 1968. Hull left the military as a Sgt. E-5

Message is: I have looked at the Memorial site to see if my dad's friend was on there. They went to boot camp together and served for 10 months in Vietnam. My dad had milaria and had to go to Japan. While in Japan his dad passed away and had to come back to the states. He never heard from him again. He wrote while they were still in the war but never heard anything from him or anyone else in the division. This was my dad's best friend while in the military and they went through some really hard times and good times. There are several listing of different James Bell's in Charlotte NC, but he might not even be listed. I would like to know a number or e-mail address so I can tell my dad and they can talk. It would mean alot to my dad and maybe to James Bell. I've looked on several sites but can't find a listing of all the veterans of the Vietnam War, if there is one. Message is: I am searching for a Charles Jefferson Neff. I have been searching for him for several years but havent succeeded thus far. He was medically discharged due to losing his leg. Charles his son was born while he was serving. The last time my husband has seen or heard from him was when he was 6-8 years old around 75-76. I desperately want to meet him and want him to know he has a family waiting for him and two beautiful granchildren. He was born in 1950 and and went by the nickname CJ. I do have his social security number and his Army ID which is not mentioned for his privacy but would like to find him or talk to someone who may have known him. The last time I talked to Veterans Affairs was last year and the only thing they could tell me was that my letter was forwarded to a VA office in Philadelphia. Message is: Looking to locate possible biological father. Met my mom in 67 in the San Francisco-Oakland area and was 26 yrs at time when mother met him. He was 5 foot 11 to 6 foot tall slim build with blue eyes, black hair and was belived to be half Itallian and half english. Belived to be a sargent in Green Barets. Was adopted as a child at about 6-8 years old and born in either New York or New Jersey about 1940 or 1941. Was a professional singer in and arround Portland Oregon area before the Viet Nam War. He was married and a Cathlic at the time and wife was pregnate with another mans kid while overseas. Met my mom and she became pregnate and he reconsiled with his wife. Shortly afterward, my mother married another man. I know of no more information on him except what my mother has told me. I do not have a Social Security or Serial # for the millitary. I also worked for the VA here in Sacramento CA and have checked the national data base for vetrans who have applied for benifit! s and no record was found, keep in mind this was about 8+ years ago. I myself served during the Gulf War and retired as a disabled Army vet from an injury while I was on duty. I have been maried for about three years and have no kids of my own. It is not my intention to cause problems for him or his family. I just would like to know more about him and possibly meet him if he approves. I do not even know if he is even alive but would like to know once and for all. I realize it has been over 30 years but I still think about it and do not know where else to find help.
