My dad is a disabled vet he was shot in the head and chest he has been dealing with this disability and i mean dealing. We were speaking about losses and yes he cameback with his life but he had some things stolen from him from his own men. Message is: I received Lt. Goff's name after visiting the Vietnam Wall in Washington, D.C. He has become my "adopted" POW/MIA through a Vietnam Veterans Memorial website; he is originally from my hometown of Warwick, RI, and was lost in a flight along with other soldiers including Richard Allard. An RN and other soldiers were rescued alive from the site of Lt. Goff's crash; according to accounts I have read, Allard's mother received word that her son had been captured alive; another officer, Lt. Wall, was found dead. Yet, along with others Goff and Allard remain missing with no word.

Message is: Looking for anyone with information on Radioman Joe Workman, killed in the 1st battle of the Ia Drang Valley in 1965. Joe was from Peoria, IL and dropped out of Spalding High School to join the army. In doing research for a memorial to the eleven Spalding boys killed in Vietnam I found that Pfc. Workman was the first to die. He is listed as KIA in the book "We Were Soldiers Once, And We Were Young". As a Nam Vet I always remember talking about being remembered if we got zapped. Message is: I am attempting to locate anyone that may have served with my cousin: Richard Allan Schaaf Sgt/Maj US Army . Richard was KIA 080866 by hostile ground fire in South Vietnam. He was assigned to Advisory Team 70 to the 3rd Bn. 8th Regiment 5th Infantry Division of the South Vietnamise Army.He was in the area around Phu Bi during most of the time he was in country. Any information would be greatly appreciated. All immediate family is deceased and it is difficult to obtain info. It is believed he spent a considerable amount of time in the Phu Bi area. He was in the Army from 1947 until the time of his death. He also served in Korea and was stationed in W. Germany prior to going to Vietnam. I am attempting to get a complete listing of his military service. I know he had been awarded the bronze star and the vietnamise cross of gallentry while in vietnam prior to his death.
