Message is: I have been looking for "EW" off and on for 30 years. We served together in the "Herd". He was from West Memphis Tenn. at the time we were in Viet Nam. Just before I left Viet Nam for the first time in May of 1967 I was in the rear and word was that my platoon was ambushed. In this ambush Lt. Karl Bullard was killed. EW would have been his RTO. I left the same day this happened. He may have been WIA but Ido not know for sure. I would give anything to find him and link up some how he was one of the best friends I ever had and was one of the best men I ever knew. Message is: William Ellis Roberts is my first cousin. His mother, Ellen Gwyneth Roberts emigrated to the States and William followed her. I have childhood memories of my cousin from America visiting Wales with his wife Cappy. I know that cousin William, often called Bill, married Cappy in 1968 because my mother went over to visit her sister and attend the wedding. At that time I think they lived in either Boston or Chicago or possibly New York. I also know that they had several children, one of whom died as a young girl - her name was Sian. William Ellis was still a Welsh man when serving in Vietnam - apparently he had not achieved full American citizenship when he was drafted and he was given the option whether or not to serve. He joined the Medical Corps - and his army number was: U.S.51536891 I don't know how long he was out in Vietnam but as stated earlier I do know that he survived and went on to marry and raise a family.
